Health Records Covering All Illnesses of More Than 2 Weeks Duration Over a 3 Year Period Were Examined for About 35,000 London Bus Drivers, 35,000 Bus Conductors, 15,000 Tram Drivers, and 15,000 Tram Conductors. Sicknesses From Gastric and Other Causes Were Compared Between Occupational and Age Groups. Gastric Causes Accounted for 12.2 to 16.7 Percent of Sick Days Among Bus Drivers, 11.2 to 18.8 Percent Among Bus Conductors, 12.8 to 13.7 Percent Among Tram Drivers, and 9.8 to 17.2 Percent Among Tram Conductors. When Expected Sick Days Were Calculated From Tram Worker Rates, Bus Workers' Actual Sick Day
