24mo 5" - 6" tall; 3, [1], 192 pages; Blackburn and Burt, Printers, Holborn Hill. Gilt blindstamped, ornamented and lettered calfskin binding. All edges gilt. "Mr. Oliphant's School 33 Charlotte Square Edinburgh" in bright gilt on front board. Bright gilt decorated borders on front and rear boards. Head of spine ever so slightly pulled. Very minimal rubbing to the extremities of the boards. Ribbed spine has black leather title label. Marbled endpapers. School bookplate states: "2nd Prize Historical Competition ...awarded to Miss Georgina Thomson 1860"
