1 Apacible, Galicano TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
Toronto Central Filipino Committee 1900 Pamphlet Fair with no dust jacket
Stapled pamphlet shows signs of having been folded vertically for mailing. Front wrapper detached and ragged. Rubberstamped "Yale University Library New Haven Conn. From the estate of Wm. Graham Sumner" "Withdrawn 1974" in pencil. LC # pencilled out. Lacking rear wrapper. Pages are brittle, but stable. Rear blank has sign of call slip removal and is stamped withdrawn. ; 8vo; 21p. pages; English and Spanish in parallel columns. Previous owner, William Graham Sumner, was professor of sociology/anthropology at Yale. This important treatise is extremely rare. It is an appeal to the American people to allow Filipinos to be able to govern themselves. Apacible fled from the American authorities in the Philippines to Canada where this pamphlet was published.
